The Daffodil House, located on a quiet dead-end street near Prineville Hospital is within walking distance of local schools—Crook County Middle School, Crooked River Elementary. Starbucks is just two blocks away within easy walking distance.
The home is known as the Daffodil House because its primary color is a bright, cheerful yellow—a fun 1960s throwback with a Mad Men vibe. For the past ten years, the Daffodil House has been the nanny’s house for my grandchildren. Now that the kids are driving, the house is ready for its next chapter—your gain.

Three Bedrooms and two bathrooms
This three bedroom, two bathroom home lives large. The living-dining room is spacious with multiple seating areas. The living room opens through French doors onto a patio with seating and a barbecue. The yard is large and fully fenced.

The three bedrooms sleep seven. The upstairs suite has a bedroom with a double bed. Lots of closets and a bathroom with a makeup table fit for a 60’s ingenue featuring a corner shower—a cozy nest at the top of the house.

The second bedroom just outside the first floor bathroom has three beds where my granddaughters have spent their Friday nights – so their parents could have a date night – as a long time divorce lawyer I know how to keep people married. Date nights and walking for a quiet time before getting the kids at 9. Is the ultimate gift to a successful marriage.
A Room for the Kids
The children’s room has three twin beds, twinkle lights, and continues the bright yellow theme.

The third bedroom has a queen bed with walk in closet and is off the TV room.

A Kitchen with an Eat-in Table
The kitchen features a welcoming eat-in area, carries through that same sunny color palette, and is fully equipped with every appliance you could need. Off the kitchen is a full laundry room with washer and dryer and an additional exit to the backyard.

The TV room, which was once the garage, is one step down from the kitchen and is a comfortable place to unwind.

Art to Complete the 1960s Vibe
The art from Jody’s personal collection of framed albums, campaign posters from Tom McCall’s 1969 Keep Oregon successful run for Governor! Dan Wyden, of Wyden & Kennedy fame, then a lowly intern to Westerdahl came up with a plan to use Ray Atkins photos of Oregon with the now famous logo to hype Tom’s campaign. Jody like every other Oregonian student papered their dorm rooms with these posters. There are other vintage posters of the 60’s psychedelic age throughout the house…the art is worth the stay.

The overall vibe is relaxed and welcoming—a place where you can enjoy Prineville without being right downtown. Starbucks is just two streets away, the Dollar Store is nearby, and one of the best restaurants in town, the Pioneer Club, is within walking distance. And if anything ever happens, the hospital is so close you could get there crawling faster than waiting for an ambulance.
Enjoy the quiet, the vibe, and Prineville! Another property presented by Stahancyk House—an experience—not just a bed.
